In addition to this, they will be constructed using only sustainable materials that are developed and manufactured in an environmentally friendly manner, do not pose any health risks, and can be seamless reintegrated into the material lifecycle and economic cycle. It is with this in mind that some manufacturers have committed themselves to sustainable design and practising sustainable business. They demonstrate this commitment through certifications such as ‘Cradle to Cradle’ and call in independent bodies to assess the environmental sustainability of their building materials and building products across the whole lifecycle using LCAs and EPDs.
